Lunchtimes at our school are happy, healthy and safe. We pride ourselves on this. We help children to make good choices and to use their manners. We encourage talk and often an adult will enjoy their lunch sitting at a table with the children. We are a Healthy School with a very large dining room. We have an impressive café style environment.
Our master-chef and the kitchen team cater for the dietary needs of all children, including those with food allergies and those who eat Halal and vegetarian meals. Meals are only £2.20 a day. Please ask at the school office if you wish to have information about free school meals.
Leeds City Council, our meals provider, ensures that there is an exciting choice of nutritional and tasty meals every day. Children have 3 main meal choices every day and these include sandwiches with salad and a vegetarian hot meal. The menu is displayed around school and children are helped to name dishes and to try new tastes. From time to time, Leeds City Council will consult with children and families around the quality of food and menu choice.
Packed lunches
Children can bring a packed lunch to eat in the dining room. We hope that this is a healthy and well-balanced meal eg a fruit drink, a sandwich, some fruit and a yoghurt or biscuit. We prefer them not to bring fizzy drinks, chocolate or sweets.
From September 2014 all children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are now eligible for free school meals. Please inform the office if your child currently brings packed lunches and you would like to change.
